Dr. Susan Homack
Dr. Homack, a licensed psychologist, earned her Ph.D. from Texas A&M University in 2005 with a major in School Psychology and a minor in Pediatric Neuropsychology. She served an internship with an emphasis in pediatric neuropsychology at Miami Children’s Hospital and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at MassGeneral for Children at North Shore Medical Center in Salem, Massachusetts. Prior to going into private practice in 2011, Dr. Homack worked at Our Children’s House at Baylor in Dallas (who was acquired by Children’s Health) for five years conducting comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations on children and adolescents with medical and developmental diagnoses. She also provided cognitive rehabilitation and counseling services to an inpatient population. Dr. Homack has co-authored a book and published several book chapters and manuscripts in a variety of journals. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, National Academy of Neuropsychology, and the National Register of Healthcare Providers.
Dr. Homack specializes in conducting assessment of learning disabilities, Attention-Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder, autism spectrum disorders, behavioral problems, and emotional difficulties. She also has extensive experience in conducting assessments on individuals with medical diagnoses including: traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, stroke, spina bifida, etc. In addition to assessment, Dr. Homack provides counseling services to children, adolescents, and families. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, adjustment and grief, behavioral problems, and parenting issues. Dr. Homack is skilled in the use of cognitive behavioral and solution-focused therapy, as well as mindfulness.
